First Day On My Own
Today was my first day on my own. At the ripe age of 22 I decided I had better move out from under the shelter of my parents comfortable hillside apartment, and move into the city! So I took my savings (a grand total of 24,000 simoleons) and bought my first place! A small studio in a high rise on the edge of the art district. Just where I want to be! The art museum is with in walking distance and I have been longing to go and see their new exhibit. Now I can do it on my lunch break! The bookstore where I work part time is just a short bike ride away. The apartment is small, very small, bu not too shabby. I like the circular pattern on the wall paper, and afterall I wouldn't be much of a starving artist if I didn't live in a tiny little hole. Eventually I will be able to save up enough to do some redecorating, but for now my main concern is learning the neighboorhood and settling in. I tested my commute into town on Monday afternoon, and bought some ice cream at a passing ice cream truck (how convenient) and I even spotted a local celebrity while out and about, one of the famed Glutto brothers! They are known all around Bridgeport as 5 star chefs. I tried to catch Mr. Glutto's attention but he was hailing a passing cab and I didn't reach him in time to introduce myself. Man could I use some cooking tips from those guys. I am really missing mom's home cooked meals these days. Oh well, perhaps another day. Afterall now that I am living in the city I should be rubbing elbows with the fanciest sims in Bridgeport! After a lovely morning out and about I headed home to my paint brushes, it had been days since I had time to paint and I am feeling my creative juices flowing, Bridgeport is inspiring! Time to get some of this energy and excitement out onto the canvas........
